I wanted to show my parent volunteers how appreciative I am of them. They have done so much for me this year! Here is a bag with seeds inside and a "Thank you for helping us grow this year with your volunteering!" slip with ribbon.

Vincent Van Gogh Sunflowers

It's spring so I had my students paint some sunflowers. I actually got some on mother's day and brought them in for them to look at.
Here is what they created!

 This is a very different interpretation! But still expressionistic!

Teacher Appreciation

I loved this drawing that I got from one of my students so I have to share.

A parent was so amazing to do this for me this week for teacher appreciation. Tried to decode. The students held it up and recited it to me. I love these guys so much!

Paul Klee Self Portraits

I loved these Paul Klee self portraits. Paul Klee was an artist that used expressionism, cubism and realism in his works. He did portraits of people with a cubist style so the students made their own. They used pastel chalk and then I laminated them so they are nice in their end of year portfolios.

Gustav Klimt

Doing art is my favorite, I have a BFA and focused on textiles which is pattern on clothes. Here is a wonderful pattern students made that was like Gustav Klimt's art. Gustav Klimt did the famous, "The Kiss".

Animals-Science, Writing, and Math

My students have learned about living and non-living things in science. They did animal book reports which included habitat, food, physical characteristics and interesting facts. They picked out from my animal cards which had information on them. They did a rough draft in school and then the final draft/book at home.
The next week they took there animal and created a fiction story about it. Finally we made a colored pencil resist watercolor painting of our animal. This is the bulletin board with all of them.

The bulletin board was a biomes around the world, artctic, ocean, forest, freshwater, rainforest, grassland and desert. There is a tree frog in the rainforest, a buffalo on the grassland, a piranha in the freshwater, a penguin in the arctic, etc.
Math-I like doing Math Their Way in class, with the district curriculum. In one activity they used shapes and their math number that they are working on to make their animal.

There is a lion, zebra, shark, dolphin, giraffe, etc. So much fun!!!

February Valentine Day Collaged Cards

These are scrapbooking-collage cards that I really loved. I just got scrap book paper at a craft store. They used several different shapes to make a collage.
